Write Free or Die held our first “virtual” meetup session last night. Many thanks to Tomek for organizing and getting the whole thing off the ground and to Jennifer for her support of the Anthology project, about which watch your inbox for info from Tomek.
The Google Hangout platform seems pretty robust, and the voice-and-video-over-IP technology appears to be as high-quality as individual PCs can support. I look forward to next week’s Review & Critique session – I think the format will be surprisingly effective.
It’s still a second-class substitute for sitting with friends around the table and it’s NO substitute whatsoever for The Corner Booth, but it’s better than not being together at all.
