I spent the day yesterday, July 26, at the NE Authors Expo at the Danversport Yacht club. The venue was beautiful, and in a beautiful spot. The space was quite large, bright and airy. Everything went off without a hitch.
There were perhaps 70 authors, many of whom have many books to their credit, and yet I had heard of none of them. That gave me a sense of the enormity of the “writing community.” Lot’s of self-published authors, but many mainstream. A wild diversity of topics and genres. I found everyone to be friendly and helpful. I picked up a few suggestions for marketing… to be explored over drinks next time.
I sold two books. Nevertheless, I got to visit a very pretty place and schmooze with people all day, which is something I like a lot. All in all, worth the time and $50 for a table.
