Our numbers suppressed by weather and illness, and our sacred venue occupied by interlopers, Jeff, Jennifer, the Johns (T&L), Lyndsey, and I (DQ) settled for a central table, to be joined later by Marietta. There was some conversation about writing and stories, etc. but we got over that reasonably quickly and moved on to interesting musical stuff, including E. Power Biggs (the late organ virtuoso) and his fabled recording of Scott Joplin rags on the pedal harpsichord. From there, some side conversations took routes of their own, until somehow, everyone’s guard slipped and politics ensued. So I tuned out, and given the conditions of the evening, made an early evening of it. But up ’til the politics, the proverbial good time, etc. etc.
