For as long as I’ve been posting to message boards, discussion boards, blogs, or other online outlets (a longish time, dating back to CompuServe days), I’ve posted something mock-celebratory on this date. This year it’s a bit spooky, since it marks 50 years – half a frickin’ century – since the USAF/OTS Class of ’70 (fiscal) tossed our wheel hats in the air and emerged from the USAFOTS campus at Lackland Military Training Center in San Antonio Texas as second lieutenants in the US Air Force.
