The 2019 Derry Regional of the NHWP Three-Minute Fiction Slam (last night at Déjà vu in Londonderry) was pure fun. The readings were terrific and I’m glad I wasn’t a judge, we’d still be wondering who won. As it is, they couldn’t have picked a better crop that Melissa’s, Don’s, and Alex’s.

I’m quite happy to have cracked Jim Kelly up with the “vintage side-by-side Chekhov shotgun” line.

Thanks again to Martha and Katharine for a terrific event, thanks to Martha and Tim for what has to be the most interesting venue ever, thanks to everyone who read and a huge thanks for all the non-readers who turned up (under threat of snow) to cheer us on.

Plan to be at the final (March 7, 7 PM, NHIA French Auditorium (148 Concord St, Manchester). Rain/Snow date = March 14) to help push Alex over the finish line first.
